Disinfecting During the COVID-19 Pandemic

After being officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, talks of COVID-19 have tremendously increased. As always, it is important to wash your hands, refrain from touching your face and be aware of your surroundings. Nevertheless, with over 1,500 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the United States, facilities must take extra precautions to disinfect highly trafficked areas.

High-traffic areas harbor bacteria and viruses on flooring, fabrics and fixtures. Objects can range from hard or soft, porous or non-porous and differ on material composition. Due to this, every surface requires different products and directions for use when disinfecting.

State has identified six distinct surfaces you should disinfect to help you and your facility combat COVID-19. Surfaces, complete with product recommendations and specific directions-for-use, include:

                1. Hard Surfaces

                2. Soft Surfaces

                3. Restrooms

                4. Hard Flooring

                5. Fogging

                6. Air Conditioning Units and Coils

Use the above guides to properly disinfect all areas of your facility.
