HWS-1250
Nitrite/Borate Closed Loop Treatment
Scale & Corrosion Defense for Closed Loop Water Systems
For facilities managing closed hot or chilled closed loop water systems, HWS-1250™’s nitrite-borate chemistry delivers corrosion and scale protection without the staining risk of silicate-based inhibitors. It prevents scale buildup and corrosion on steel and yellow metal components. Silicate-free and colorless, it reduces staining potential and is compatible with ethylene and propylene glycol antifreezes.
Where to Use HWS-1250™
Use In: closed hot water and chilled water systems that contain steel or yellow metal components. Not compatible with aluminum components. For aluminum systems, see State’s Q4160™.
Recommended For: Industrial manufacturing plants and institutional buildings with closed heating or cooling loops.
Effective Against: Scale buildup and corrosion.
Caution: Like other scale and corrosion inhibitors, HWS-1250™ is not compatible with potable water systems.
HWS-1250 may be added at full strength directly into the closed system by means of a bypass feeder, pot feeder, or chemical pump. Initially add 7 gallons (27 L) of HWS-1250 to 1000 gallons (3785L) of system water. Each system is unique and may require slightly different product levels. Your State Chemical Account Manager will evaluate your system and determine the proper product dosage and maintenance levels. Typically maintain nitrite levels at 700 – 900 ppm as nitrite or as directed by your State Chemical Account Manager. Test for product nitrite level every three months. Add additional HWS-1250 as needed to maintain the nitrite level at 700 – 900 ppm as nitrite.
HWS-1250 is not compatible with aluminum components. For systems with aluminum components use State Chemical Q4160. Consult your State Account Manager for more information.
Not for use in potable water systems.
