Non-Acid Rust Cleaner
EFFECTIVE NON ACID RUST REMOVAL
NARC™ is a non-acid cleaner designed to remove metal oxide buildup such as rust in closed heating and cooling water systems. Its formula loosens and lifts rust deposits from closed systems, heat exchangers, compressors and piping. It cleans without requiring neutralization, helping maintain clean, efficient system operation.
SAFE FOR METALS AND CLOSED WATER SYSTEMS
NARC™ is safe for use on steel, copper, brass and plastic piping found in closed loop heating and cooling systems. It removes rust and calcium buildup without harming metal components. NARC™ can also be used with steam boiler programs to aid scale control and disperse iron, helping restore and maintain energy efficiency.
On-Line cleaning of closed heating and cooling system: Add NARC™at a rate of 1 gallon per 200 gallons of system water in the closed loop system. Allow to circulate for 24 hours and then bleed 10% of the closed loop water. Add back an additional 1 gallon of product for ever y 200 gallons of fresh water added to maintain product concentration. Repeat this process for 5 – 7 days then drain and flush the closed loop to remove excess dispersed iron and scale. Fill the closed loop system to operating volume. Add sufficient State Chemical corrosion inhibitor treatment. Return system to operation.
During any on-line cleaning process small leaks may occur. Be prepared for water leakage. During the cleaning process rust and scale will be removed as fine particles. System filters may become plugged with these fine particles and may require service frequently during the cleaning process. As an added benefit consider the installation of State Chemical Filter Feeder. The Filter Feeder makes a convenient location to add chemical treatment as well as remove iron or other fine particles from the closed loop water.
Steam Boiler Water additive: For additional scale and iron control in steam boilers, add 1 gallon of NARC to 55 gallons of State Chemical scale and corrosion inhibitor. NARC is not compatible with State Chemical Superhot™ Complete or Superhot™ NST. NARC is not NSF certified for use in steam boilers where steam may contact food.
