Mudd-Slide™
Non-Acid Hard Water Scale Remover
Scale, Sludge, and Mud Treatment for Boilers & Cooling Towers
Scale and sludge buildup in boilers and cooling towers degrades heat transfer efficiency and forces unplanned cleanouts. Mudd-Slide™ prevents both through continuous polymer-based treatment that holds deposits in suspension for removal during blowdown. By keeping surfaces clean, it helps maintain efficiency and reduce energy costs. Its non-acid formula makes it safer to use and its NSF G6 certification makes it suitable for treating boilers or steam lines where steam may contact edible products.
Where to Use Mudd Slide™ for Boiler and Cooling Tower Systems
Use In: boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, condensers, compressors, holding tanks, pipelines and steam lines where steam may contact edible products.
Recommended For: Food processing plants, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and industrial operations with hard water or softener system vulnerabilities, particularly those requiring NSF G6-certified boiler treatment.
Effective Against: Hard water scale and suspended sludge/mud fouling heat transfer surfaces in boilers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
Caution: Do not mix with State SuperHot™ or any State Industrial biocides.
Steam Boiler Water Systems. Mudd-Slide™ is not intended as the sole treatment program.
Add Mudd-Slide™ when increased scale formation is possible such as when the softener system is not functioning properly. Also add Mudd-Slide™ to increase scale and sludge removal from boiler systems that are scaled or fouled.
Add Mudd-Slide™ at a rate of 1.0 – 2.0 pints per 1000 gallons of blow down. Mudd-Slide™ can also be mixed with the base boiler water treatment up to 10 % by volume. Do not mix with SuperHot™.
Cooling Tower System: Mudd-Slide™ is not intended as the sole treatment program. Add Mudd-Slide™ when increased scale control is needed or to remove mud from cooling systems.
Add Mudd-Slide™ at a rate of 1.0 – 2.0 pints per 1000 gallons of cooling tower bleed. Do not mix Mudd-Slide™ with any State Industrial Products biocides.
Cooling Tower Cleaning:
1. Heavily bleed the cooling tower to reduce TDS levels equal to the make up water TDS.
2. Discontinue bleed and close bleed valve for 48 hours.
3. Slug feed 2.5 gallons of Mudd-Slide per 1000 gallons of water in the cooling tower or sump.
4. Circulate the system water for 24 – 48 hours.
5. Heavily bleed the cooling tower or flush to remove all sludge.
6. Repeat if needed.
7. Return the cooling system to normal chemical treatment and bleed control.
Note: Mudd-Slide™ cleaning will remove calcium carbonate hard water scale and mud. Because of poor flow patterns in many evaporative condenser systems, Mudd-Slide™ may not remove all scale in these systems. Avoid contamination of food during use and storage of this product.
