Cooling Water Biocide for Open Towers & Industrial Systems
Liquid Alg-Erase™ is a broad-spectrum treatment that controls algae, bacteria, and slime in open cooling tower systems, decorative fountains, and other industrial water applications. More effective than liquid bleach across a wide pH range, Liquid Alg-Erase™ delivers dependable microbial control while lowering per-treatment costs versus chlorine-based programs. Dosed at as little as 2 fl oz per 1,000 gallons, it achieves 3.4 ppm total bromine, effectively controlling with minimal product usage.
Where to Use Liquid Alg-Erase™
Use In: Open cooling tower basins, food processing and pasteurizer water systems, decorative fountains, air washer systems, and chill water recovery systems
Recommended For: Facilities with recirculating cooling towers, food and beverage processing plants, HVAC operations, industrial facilities with open water systems, hotels and institutional campuses with decorative water features
Effective Against: algae, biofilm, slime, and organisms that cause fouling and reduced heat transfer efficiency in recirculating systems.
BASIC GUIDELINES: As a general rule, the total bromine level should be checked with a chlorine or bromine test kit at the bleed-off point furthest from the point of injection.
Do not store product in clear or transparent containers. This product is UV light sensitive and may be applied at nighttime in most systems if excessive exposure may be a limiting factor.
Initial dose: When the system is noticeably fouled, a precleaning may be necessary.
Then apply sufficient Liquid Alg-Erase to achieve 2.4-15 ppm total bromine (1-6.6 ppm as chlorine) or as needed to maintain microbial or algal control.
Subsequent doses: This product may be added using continuous or intermittent dosing methods to provide adequate control. Continuous addition methods may obtain adequate control at lower total bromine levels than suggested above.
Always adjust levels of total bromine accordingly to maintain desired visual or measured microbiological control.
