SL-105
Boiler Water Treatment
NEUTRALIZE CARBONIC ACID IN CONDENSATE LINES
SL‑105 is a concentrated steam condensate line treatment that neutralizes carbonic acid formed when steam condenses into water. Left untreated, this acid can deteriorate condensate lines, leading to leaks and costly loss of return water. SL‑105 helps prevent damage and ensures longer system life in demanding conditions.
COMPLETE SYSTEM COVERAGE
SL‑105 contains a neutralizing amine that provides protection across all operating pressures and throughout the entire steam line system. By protecting against acid corrosion, SL‑105 helps preserve valuable equipment, minimize maintenance, and protect your steam and condensate system investment from early failure.
INITIAL TREATMENT: Use 7 ounces (206 ml) for every 1000 gallons (3800L) of make-up water added to the boiler. Check condensate to make sure pH is alkaline at all times. Obtain a sample of steam condensate 24 hours after the addition of SL-105 Treatment from the steam trap located furthest from the boiler. Drain steam trap for a minimum of 30 seconds prior to collecting sample.
Cool sample at room temperature and determine pH. If pH of steam condensate is low, 7.0 or less, increase treatment until pH in the steam condensate is 8.0 – 9.0. Check and maintain pH of steam condensate in 7.0-8.0 range by addition of SL-105 Treatment at regular intervals.
