Quick Defense™

This product is not to be used as a terminal sterilant/high level disinfectant on any surface or instrument that (1) is introduced directly into the human body, either into or in contact with the bloodstream or normally sterile areas of the body, or (2) contacts intact mucous membranes but which does not ordinarily penetrate the blood barrier or otherwise enter normally sterile areas of the body. This product may be used to pre-clean or decontaminate critical or semi-critical medical devices prior to sterilization or high-level disinfection.

DISINFECTANT DIRECTIONS / APPLICATIONS
Quick Defense™ is a Hospital Disinfectant for pre-cleaned surfaces, Bactericidal according to the AOAC Use Dilution Test Method and a Mildewstat according to the EPA Mildew-Fungistatic guidelines in 10 minutes, and Virucidal* according to the virucidal qualification in 60 seconds, against germs ‡such as: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Legionella pneumophila, Salmonella choleraesuis, Aspergillus niger, Staphylococcus aureus (Staph), Streptococcus pyogenes (Strep), Escherichia coli (E. coli) 0157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, Serratia marcescens, *Herpes Simplex Type 2, *Influenza A/Hong Kong, *HIV-1 (Aids Virus), Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VREF), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Athletes Foot Fungus).

Pre-clean prior to disinfection. Trigger spray 6-8 inches from hard nonporous surface. Clean with brush, sponge, or cloth. Do not breathe spray. Treated surfaces must remain wet for 10 minutes for disinfection against bacteria and fungi or 60 seconds for disinfection against viruses*. Wipe clean with a cloth or tissue.

Mold and Mildew Control: To control mold and mildew on hard, nonporous surfaces, wash visible soil from the surface. Then apply with mop, sponge, cloth or trigger spray so as to wet all surfaces thoroughly. Let air dry. Repeat application every 7 days to control reoccurrence of growth.

Fungicidal Disinfection: Quick Defense is an effective fungicide against Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Athletes Foot Fungus) when used on surfaces in areas such as locker rooms, dressing rooms, shower and bath areas and exercise facilities. Follow disinfection directions.

KILLS HIV ON PRE-CLEANED ENVIRONMENTAL SURFACES/OBJECTS PREVIOUSLY SOILED WITH BLOOD/BODY FLUIDS, in health care settings or other settings in which there is an expected likelihood of soiling of inanimate surfaces/objects with blood or body fluids and in which the surfaces/objects likely to be soiled with blood or body fluids can be associated with the potential for transmission of human immunodeficiency virus Type 1 (HIV-1) (associated with AIDS).

“SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEANING AND DECONTAMINATION AGAINST HIV-1 ON SURFACES/OBJECTS SOILED WITH BLOOD/BODY FLUIDS”

PERSONAL PROTECTION: Clean-up should always be done wearing protective latex gloves, gowns, masks and eye protection.

CLEANING PROCEDURE: Blood and other body fluids containing HIV must be thoroughly cleaned from surfaces and objects before application of this product.

CONTACT TIME: Leave surface wet for 60 seconds. Use a 10 minute contact time for disinfection against bacteria and fungi.

DISPOSAL OF INFECTIOUS MATERIALS: Blood, body fluids, cleaning matrials and clothing should be auto-claved and disposed of according to local regulations for infectious waste disposal.

SANITIZER DIRECTIONS: Quick Defense is a sanitizer for pre-cleaned, hard, and non-porous non-food contact surfaces according to the method for inanimate Non-Food Contact Surface Sanitizer in 60 seconds against germs †such as: Streptococcus pyogenes (Strep), Staphylococcus aureus (Staph), Listeria monocytogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli 0157:H7 (E. coli) (pathogenic strain).
