Defender™ II
Rust Treatment, Paint Primer, Polymeric Coating
CONVERTS RUST AND PROTECTS METAL
Defender™ II chemically reacts with rust on iron or steel surfaces, converting it into a stable black coating that seals out oxygen and moisture. This weatherproof polymeric layer prevents further corrosion, delivering lasting protection against harsh environmental conditions and extending the life of metal surfaces.
IDEAL FOR INDUSTRIAL METAL RESTORATION
Perfect for machinery, railings, fences, structural steel, storage tanks, and other rusted metal in outdoor or industrial settings. Defender™ II works as both treatment and primer in one step, requiring only loose paint and debris removal before application. Tools clean easily with water and detergent after use.
Shake and stir well before using. Apply only when temperatures are between 60-100° F. ON RUSTED METAL: Defender™ II is a metal primer, not a paint. Rust removal is not required; simply remove loose or peeling paint. For best results, clean the surface with a product such as State 999® and rinse with clean water. Apply Defender II™ undiluted with a brush. Allow to dry overnight. Apply a second coat of Defender™ II or a topcoat of paint. Where rust is heavy, two coats of Defender™ II may be required to ensure proper penetration and coverage. For outdoor use and maximum indoor performance, a topcoat of paint is recommended. Allow 24 hours drying time before applying topcoat. Clean brushes with water. Avoid spreading onto adjacent areas. If splashing occurs, rinse with water. ON NEW METALS: For new ferrous, aluminum, or galvanized surfaces, apply two coats of Defender™ II. Follow the directions above for proper application. A paint finish coat may be applied over Defender™ II. Allow proper drying time between coats. NOTE: Not for use on surfaces that are continuously submerged in water.
