BT-128™
All-in-One Boiler Water Treatment
COMPLETE BOILER SYSTEM PROTECTION
BT-128™ is an all-in-one treatment that conditions boiler water while preventing corrosion in condensate lines. Its blend of scale and sludge control agents, oxygen scavengers, and neutralizing amine delivers protection throughout the system, extending equipment life and reducing maintenance. NSF G7 and CFIA certifications allow use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants where treated water or steam will not contact edible products.
SIMPLIFY MAINTENANCE WITHOUT SACRIFICING PROTECTION
With all necessary ingredients in one drum, BT-128™ requires no mixing and can be fed with a single pump, eliminating the need for complex feed systems. Its built-in product tracer makes testing quick and easy, ensuring proper dosage and consistent performance for industrial boiler operations.
STEAM BOILERS
Add through the vent or the opening into the condensate receiver, feed water tank, make-up tank or surge tank. Add treatment slowly to obtain uniform mixing. Maintain BT-128 between 70-80 ppm as measured by the State Industrial boiler water product test.
MAINTENANCE TREATMENT: Add BT-128 to maintain product residual of between 70-80 ppm. This level should be monitored daily with test kit to insure that the boiler is properly protected at all times.
BLOWDOWN: To prevent scaling, blowdown should be scheduled to maintain 3-5 cycles of concentration in the boiler or as recommended by your State Industrial Representative. Monitor cycles daily with test kit.
HOT WATER RECIRCULATING BOILERS
Initial Treatment: Add treatment directly to boiler drum or through a vent. Add slowly to obtain uniform mixing. Maintain BT- 128 between 70-80 ppm as measured by the State Industrial boiler water product test.
MAINTENANCE TREATMENT
Use BT-128 to maintain product residual of between 70-80 ppm. This should be monitored to insure that the boiler is properly protected at all times. Blowdown unit periodically to remove sludge.
CLOSED LOOP CHILLER SYSTEMS: BT-128 will work as an on-line cleaner to slowly remove scale already present in the boiler. Maintain 70-80 ppm additive level to accomplish this on-line cleaning. Addition of product should be done at a point as near to the feed water inlet to the boiler as possible. Manual blowdown of the mud drum should be increased to purge the increased amount of the solids generated through descaling. This on-line cleaning procedure will take 2 to 4 weeks at full boiler load. Caution should be used in the case of severe scaling since on line cleaning of large amounts of scale could clog the system. In cases of large amounts of scale, acid cleaning while the unit is not operating is recommended. BT-128 will work as an on-line cleaner to slowly remove scale already present in the boiler. NEUTRALIZING RINSE AFTER ACID CLEANINGBefore starting a water treatment program with BT-128, acid cleaning of the boiler with State ACIDINE may be needed. After descaling with ACIDINE, thoroughly flush the system with water to remove all acid. To further protect the metal surfaces, add 1 gallon BT-128 for every 75 to 100 gallons of water in the boiler. Fill the unit to 6 inches over the normal operating capacity. Circulate this neutralizing solution through the boiler, and allow to soak at least 1 hour. After discontinuing recirculation and lowering the water level to normal, fire the unit to at least 50 psi pressure. Vent the unit during firing to occasionally release any liberated gases. After heating the unit approximately 1 hour, drain it, and flush with clear, warm water. Then refill the unit with fresh water and add BT-128.
